After 500 million passengers and travelling the equivalent of 300 trips to the moon, NSW’s legendary stainless steel V-Set trains have made their final run to emotional scenes at Central Station.

As the final jam-packed stainless steel V-Set train pulled into Central Station, 71-year-old guard Yonnie Tannett told passengers over the tannoy the train was “simply the best”.

The last V-set train to travel through the Blue Mountains will run on Friday, January 30.
