I've got a PC that will hang on the Windows XP splash screen when it's "restarted". But if Shutdown cold and then powered on it boots up ok. Is there a way to troubleshoot this? PC is a new Intel H55 ...

Does anybody know how to get rid of the opening/closing Windows splash screen that pops up every time I turn on and turn off the computer. I'd like to replace that screen with my own creations?
