USI women's basketball fell short in the OVC Tournament semifinals despite an impressive performance by Ali Saunders.

The Ohio Valley Conference tournament will tip-off championship week in the world of college basketball and for the first time in program history, the University of Southern Indiana women’s team can punch their ticket to the big dance.

The SIUE women's basketball team fell to Southern Indiana 72-44 on Wednesday in the second round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. USI took control early with a 14-0 run over 7:31 in the first quarter.

The USI men's and women's basketball teams are on opposite ends of the OVC standings entering the final stretch.
