Released in 2017 before its battle royale experience, Fortnite Save the World is finally being freed from its paywall cage next month.

Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney has announced Fortnite is now available on the Xbox PC store. This is the first time the game has been available on PC outside of Epic Games Store.

The Save the World mode that started it all for Fortnite will be accessible for free to almost all players starting April 16, reversing a decision by Epic Games nearly six years ago.

Fortnite is an expansive original world that invites players to be creative, resourceful and collaborative, combining building skills and destructible environments with intense PvP combat.
