Eight people were taken to hospitals after being exposed to chemicals at the Byron Clean Energy Center nuclear plant southwest of Rockford, Illinois, on Tuesday.

About 200 gallons of oil has leaked out of the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant in southern Minnesota, according to Xcel Energy.

From the “Blue Deck” built on higher land within the confines of the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, the reactor buildings where a calamitous accident occurred are visible 80 to 100 meters away.
