But let me be very clear: it is NOT a true intracanal medicament.” It has no antibacterial effect, so it should never be used routinely or in infected canals. ❌ WHEN NOT TO USE Never use dexamethasone in: • Necrotic pulp • Infected canals • Chronic cases • Or as a replacement for calcium hydroxide We do NOT inject dexamethasone inside the canal.
