Using a variable router jig to pocket for this steel table leg on the back of this cherry table top. I used some setup blocks around the leg equal to the offset from my guide bushing, the 1/2" downcut bit worked perfectly following the variable template, once the majority was cut a corner chisel made for easy squaring of the edges for a perfect fit! One way to cut clean and accurate mortises is to grab the Festool OF 1400 router with the clip in bushing and some Titebond Instant Bond glue and some small pieces of wood. Temporarily glue the wood on as a bushing guide and use the router to cut out all the material for the mortise and then pop the small wood pieces off, quickly sand off the glue and chisel out the corners 👍 #woodwork | The Dusty Lumber Co.
