Back in the 1960s at the famous Webb factory in Stourbridge H. Tootell, a 5th-generation craftsman from a long line of skilled workers, was part of the legendary glassmaking world. In Stourbridge's iconic Thomas Webb & Sons glassworks, the 'pot makers' were the absolute heroes behind the magic: - They prepared and melted huge batches of molten glass in massive clay crucibles (called 'pots' in the trade – some held hundreds of kilos!). - Mixing raw ingredients like silica, lead, and colourants. -
