A Filipino domestic worker in Hong Kong is being praised as a “modern-day hero” for saving her employer’s 3-month-old baby during the Wang Fuk Court fire. 28-year-old Rhodora Alcaraz shielded the infant in a wet blanket while trapped in a smoke-filled room for several hours before firefighters reached them.
