This animation shows forecast surface pressure and fronts, combined with the rain for Saturday. The fronts bring a rainband to the lower North Island in the morning, but the rain eases by midday as the front weakens on its way northwards. Notice the broad ridge of high pressure building over the South Island behind the fronts and by the evnd of the day over much of the North Island as well.^AB | MetService New Zealand
