Get lost in the hypnotic optics of this sequence of photon micrographs, which show an array of Fresnel lenses, illuminated from behind. The lenses focused beams of light toward a camera. Using an optical microscope, our researchers took pictures of the array at different focus positions, moving from behind its glass surface to beyond the focused beams.
