PICC Line Infection Symptoms
A PICC Line infection can be a VERY serious issue if left untreated. Thank god the doctor caught it in time and we were able to get it removed. A PICC line is an IV that is connected directly into the Vena Cava which is a vein that is very close in proximity to your heart. If your Picc line gets infected then the infection can easily spread to your heart. We are very lucky to have caught it in time and gotten it removed. But since my mom still isn’t done with chemo we’re going to have to do anot

Monday night, I found myself with a 102 fever, drenched in sweat, swollen, painful lymph nodes throughout my body, body aches, and more. I thought I had sepsis, because of my central line. But, I didn’t know when I could have gotten a line infection - I’m so careful. It didn’t make sense that I was sick, so it hit me that I was most likely ‘just’ flaring up.
