If you have never been to the shelter, take a look inside and see the kind of resources they have to work with here. 60-80 animals come in per day to a shelter only meant to hold 150 animals when it was built in the 80's. This is a community issue we have dumped on the shelter. It is going to take the community to solve this huge problem of animal overpopulation in Harris County. We must push the City of Houston and Harris County Officials to fund free spay and neuter programs

Sadie is safe again, adopted and home with a new family! Sadie" is safe with foster. Please contact shelter to inquire about adopting! (Pupdate 4/9 at 5pm) Sadie has been at the shelter for a month. This is her last chance to get a home. If we don't have an ADOPTER or FOSTER today or Sunday, she is at risk Monday at 7am. She is good with other dogs, non reactive to cats, calm, walks well on a leash, potties outside (she holds it in her kennel). She is the perfect dog!! http://petharbor.com/pet.a

5pm 7/13 Update- Goldilocks is SAFE with Gulf Coast Cocker Spaniel Rescue ❤️ donations will be transferred this evening. Thank you everyone! "Goldilocks" is a senior cocker spaniel, estimated at 12 years old. As you can see, she is blind, has some growths in her ears and belly. But she has love to give. As soon as I opened the cage door and she heard my voice, she immediately perked up and came to the front of the cage, nubby tail wagging. Please donate for rescue. http://petharbor.com/pet.asp?u

🌀9/24-Charlie is out of the shelter with his rescue group! 9/22-Charlie has a RESCUE hold! ‼️The shelter has changed their euthanasia policy resulting in losing dogs without warning on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.‼️ 9/20-This handsome boy is Charlie and he almost made it out of the shelter, except his adopter never came back for him. Charlie is a GREAT DOG and he would be a fantastic companion for someone. His notes are wonderful and you can take him home today! *Kenneled with Koda-#A642551

Update 6/4 - We are heartbroken to write that Mickey passed away last night. He was sick and weak. We have no words and are truly saddened by this news. Please keep in mind, All dogs are urgent upon arrival at the shelter. We must continue to work together to get these animals out as fast as possible!! Mickey is a tough loss for us all. Thank you for your continued efforts and contributions.... all donations received for Mickey will be refunded as soon as possible. URGENT 6/3 - LINK IS DOWN!! Pl
