The Futuro house, designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in 1968, was created as a portable ski cabin. Its unique, UFO-like shape was inspired by the need for a quick-to-assemble structure. Made of fiberglass and plastic, it was lightweight and could be transported easily. Around 1968-1978, about 100 were built, appealing to the 1960s’ space-age enthusiasm.
