Roger Deakins’ cinematography in “The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford” (2007) is a visual masterpiece! His use of natural light, soft focus, and dynamic framing transforms each scene into a painting. Unfortunately, despite the artistry behind the film and the beautiful writing, it remains criminally underrated! For me, it’s enough to see these insert shots to make me watch it once more. The performances are perfect and the direction by Andrew Dominik is ‘al bacio’. . . #ci
