Humidity is one of the most misunderstood parts of reptile care. Most species do not want their entire enclosure sitting at a perfect number all day long. Chasing “80% humidity all the time” will drive you insane, and in a lot of cases it actually causes more problems than it fixes. What really matters are microclimates. Small areas inside the enclosure that stay more damp, cooler, or more humid. Moist hides. Wet bark. Shaded substrate. Places the animal can choose to use when it needs moisture.
