Several individuals from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Belize, and the USA who identify as Garifuna have expressed their seriousness to have the island declared a sacred heritage site for Garifuna, the world over. All is set for the hosting of the 11th Garifuna Conference which starts on Monday, march 11th to Wednesday March 13th, at the UWI Global Campus Site at Frenches, Kingstown. The Garifuna Heritage Foundation is organising the event, and according to its head, Dr. Zoila Ellis Browne, much is expected from the Conference which will be held under the theme; ‘promoting reparatory justice : towards the development and implementation of a 2030 indigenous people’s development plan’. | SVG TV
