These blocks are called geofoam, and they are made of a very similar material to the Styrofoam you find in boxes to protect appliances, electronics etc. We are using geofoam at this location because the ramp is very close to the Union Pacific Railroad and Utah Transit Authority tracks as well as the existing lanes on southbound I-15. A ramp built with typical methods would s
