The MG42 was the successor to the MG34. First produced in 1942, this machine gun had a fire rate of 1,200-1,800 rounds per minute. Allied troops dubbed it “Hitler’s Buzzsaw”. The MG42 was loved by both German troops during the war and Allied troops after the war.
